Quito, Oct 11th (ABN).- The President of Ecuador, Rafael Correa, will arrive in Venezuela this Thursday to hold a meeting with his Venezuelan counterpart, Hugo Chávez, and discuss about economic and political regional mechanisms such as the Andean Community (CAN), the South American Nations Union (Unasur) and the Bank of the South.
According to a communiqué issued by the Ecuadorian Presidency, Correa will arrive in Caracas along with some members of his cabinet, among them, the Ecuadorian Foreign Affairs Minister, María Fernanda Espinosa, and the Oil and Mining Minister, Galo Chiriboga.
Chávez had announced President Correa’s visit to Venezuelan during his weekly TV and radio show last Sunday Aló, Presidente, and added that they will discuss about the Venezuela’s return to the CAN.
Concerning this issue, the Head of State said once again that he aims his aspirations at the Andean Community that gives priority to the social agenda of the economy.
Correa will travel with President Chávez to Puerto Ballena, Colombia, where they will meet with President Álvaro Uribe to inaugurate the Transguajiro Gas Pipeline.
