Correa Tours Ecuador Localities

Quito, Sep 14 (Prensa Latina) Ecuador's President Rafael Correa carries out Friday his traveling cabinet in the locality of Milagros in Guayas province, after touring another 17 towns of the country in the last weeks.

Correa, who was Thursday in the Daule municipality, from Guayas, has delivered some $400 million in credit and for public infrastructure projects during his tours.

With such contributions, the statesman complies with promises of the 2006 electoral campaign, but his oppositions questions that those actions, right before the September 30 polls by the Constituent Assembly.

Prior to this visit, the head of State visited the locality of La Libertad and Salinas, in the peninsula of Santa Elena, where he handed over cash housing subsidies and credit to boost small industry.

According to Correa, the Constituent Assembly, to be opened by late October, will finish off with labor exploitation.

Today's agenda also includes the signing of an accord to import without taxes 11,125 cars, frames and spare parts for public service.

In this sense, the government will increase public safety and reduce environmental pollution, through the renovation of old buses.
