Correa Leads Ecuador Assembly March

Quito, June 15 (Prensa Latina) President of Ecuador Rafael Correa led a march of his Alianza Pais movement to the Supreme Electoral Court (TSE), where he presented a list of candidates to the National Constituent Assembly on Friday.

Several ministers and leaders of other organizations, which joined Alianza Pais to make a single list of candidates to the Assembly, also attended the march.

They included the Nuevo Pais and Alternativa Democratica, as well as the National Federation of Black and Indigenous Farmers.

"This is the mother of all battles" and we cannot lose it, we must win it, Correa said before thousands of marchers shortly before he presented 856,000 signatures and the names of assembly hopefuls from his Alianza Pais movement.

Monday is the deadline for presentation of names of assembly candidates from different parties.
