Plan Colombia, the joint US-Colombian plan to battle leftist guerrillas and the production of coca in Colombia, is a "complete failure", says Ecuadorean President Rafael Correa.
"It's a complete failure. It's cost millions, billions of dollars. Colombia has more helicopters than pilots. The coca crops are still there and there are still vast areas that are not controlled by the Colombian State," the leftist president said.
According to Correa, the Colombian conflict "has no military, but a political solution, but the militarists and warmongers will never accept that," he said Saturday.
